FO: Dryad & Dreaming of the Oak

As a druicca trees are real important in my life. Some are a source of inspiration and wisdom, others are good listeners or a help full friend in need. The way they are, make me feel alive and fill my heart with joy.

For over a few months I feel the urge to translate some of that things that makes a tree special to me into a pattern for a sock. Making lots of designs, knitting swatches, talking to the trees nearby – I found out I committed myself to a very complicated job.

The soul of a tree, a single one or a family of trees is that special, no words, patterns, colors or structures will describe them as a experience them … not even a bit. An old Beech calms my mind and helps my reflect all my thoughts, the Oak represents me the courage to continue. “Be patient” the Aspen whispered … “Keep it simple, dear” the young Birch in our garden learned me!

In the middle of this process I knitted two pairs of “tree-related” socks …

Inderdaad: Mooi!
