WIP: More green socks ….
Is green the new purple? Just kidding – I love both colors a lot – although I don’t wear them as often as you might think, looking in my stash and projects. I have just noticed I am knitting lots of green socks lately :-)
After knitting “Dreaming of the Oak” and “Dryad”, (my last post!) currently I am working at two other green pairs….

WIP: Obstakels
First… this is the Obstakel (Obstacles)sock, designed by Marnel for our bi-monthly KAL at the Dutch yahoogroup Sokken breien. Marnel did a great job by adapting the charts for blind people so they can read and feel the pattern in braille. As you might guess … braille-readers don’t understand regular charts. Marnel figured out a simple, yet effective, system for our blind members.
Only one of the Obstakel socks is finished now. Second will be cast on next week.
Definitly no SSS, just a lot of fun knitting the …..

WIP: Cairdeas
Cairdeas
A few months ago I noticed Yarnissima’s new project with this name. Loving her designs I could hardly wait to find out what kind of project it would be. Would it be another lovely sock pattern? Cairdeas is an Irish word for Friendship – that sound like a promise to me. So when the pattern became available at Three Irish Girls I couldn’t resist buying it ;-) The only problem I had…. what kind a yarn to use? Nothing in my stash available, couldn’t find the right yarn local. I had to be patient, for the right yarn to show up.
While dying some prototypes of kettle dyed nearly solid sock yarns for the MoonWise Seasons & Elements collection (*), I couldn’t stop thinking about how it would work out with the Cairdeas. Yesterday I gave myself permission to cast on. Finally! Now I can’t stop knitting ;-) Gorgeous, I love the yarn, the pattern, the combination of the two of them!
* Yes! … the MoonWise collection :-)
Currently I am busy setting up my webshop, for selling my hand dyed and/or hand spun yarns and fibers. A tremendous work to figure out how what is the best webshop (even for a former webdesigner / programmer), configuring it, making photo’s of my yarns and other stuff. As you might guess, I can take some time to complete the job. Maybe, in some of my next post I’ll show you some of my yarns ;-)
