Knitting for Daisy

Cardigan & mittens for Daisy
I finally finished this cardigan for Daisy. It was project with lots of learning.
The cardigan closes with some snaps, as I couldn’t find any nice buttons for its.
It was the second time I knitted a garment top-down, it was the first time that I made a steek and knitted a buttonband to finish the steek. Wow, that was scary, cutting in my knitting feels so unnatural. I am very glad it worked out nice. The body has a fair bit of ease right now. The sleeves were to short at first …
I had forgotten my GD has such long legs and arms for her age (like her mum and dad!). I have to knit the sleeves about 2 inches longer so she can wear the cardigan until the age of 2 years.
I did some duplicate stitch and made 3 cats to add a touch of color. I have used Scheepjeswol Donna, a soft and superwash acryl/wool blend I had in my stash for years.
Earlier this week I knitted Daisy another pair of booties. As I had half a skein left of the yarn, I knitted a pair of mittens. Just in case it she needs them this winter :-) The yarn is Regia Flusi Das Socken Monster, in the colorway Fraulein. This sockyarn is specially designed for children socks. The booties are a bit large now, soon she will grow in to it soon enough. I have put some liquid latex to the sole of the feet, to make the booties less slippery. That stuff really works, I use it for all her socks and booties.
